Yes you did read it right! I’ve heard all the claims about being able to go from Couch Potato to 5k in 8 weeks but feel like it’s a bold statement.
Call me stupid or just inquisitive but for some reason I’m actually giving this one a go. I spent my University days drinking cheap Cider and eating cold pizza from cardboard boxes and became very talented. I think I used to be able to outdrink most people and seen that as a bit of an achievement back in my teens. Fast forward 5 years and now I’m trying to act mature, better myself and actually complete the Couch Potato to 5k challenge.

I was sat on the sofa munching on Pizza and watching Netflix as you do, and came across an App on iTunes that claimed that it could turn me into the next Mo Farrah in 8 weeks. You can click the app link below to download it and give it a go yourself. I’m going to document my progress over the next 8 weeks and see how I get on!
I’ve decided to document my Starting Weight upon starting this challenge which stands at 11ST 1Lbs. It’ll be interesting in 8 weeks to be able to look back on this and see a) If i can actually run 5k, and b) If i’ve lost or gained any weight.
What I’ll be doing is a weekly blog breaking down how I’m progressing and how each of the runs have been. I’m not 100% confident i’ll be able to blast it all in 8 weeks, and the App does make it clear that if you do need to build stamina in any weeks then you can carry on with that particular week before advancing on. Ultimately I see this as more of a marathon than a sprint. Hey if I can achieve this in 12 weeks I’d be more than proud of my achievements.
